We would like to inform you of an important update regarding Off-Campus Study Plus, the travel support program offered by Science Tokyo SPRING.
Off-Campus Study Plus has supported various academic activities, including participation in international conferences. However, as of now, the number of applications for this fiscal year has reached approximately twice the volume received during the same period last year. As a result, a shortfall in the allocated budget is unavoidable.
We sincerely regret to inform you that, starting with applications to be reviewed in August 2025 (i.e., those submitted in July 2025), the screening criteria will be revised as follows:
| [Change] – Applications primarily for participation in international conferences will no longer be eligible for support. [No change] – Applications from both SPRING and BOOST supported students will continue to be accepted. |
As clearly stated in the program guidelines, once the annual budget has been fully allocated, we will close all application submissions regardless of their content.
This revision is a temporary measure due to the current fiscal year’s budget constraints. The policy for the next fiscal year will be provided in the FY2026 program guidelines.
