Introduction

“Program for Development of Next-Generation Front-Runners with Comprehensive Knowledge and Humanity (Science Tokyo SPRING)” and ”Program for Development of Co-creative Experts towards Top-level AI Research (Science Tokyo BOOST)” will offer financial support for doctoral students who are willing to contribute to the development of science, technology and innovation in Japan after completing the doctoral program and those who wish to independently choose their own career path.

For the time being, the recruitment for students in SE (science and engineering fields) is conducted on this website. Only students of the following schools can apply from this website.

Those who aspire to solve the various problems that modern society will face and contribute to the welfare and happiness of all members of the global community, as next-generation front-runners with comprehensive knowledge and humanity

Amount of support

Recruitment for those who enroll in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program in the fall is conducted only when they enroll in the doctoral program. Recruitment for those who will enroll in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program next fall (Offer in advance) is not conducted. Information for those who wish to enroll in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program in spring 2025 will be announced around spring 2025.

Program for Development of Co-creative Experts towards Top-level AI Research (Science Tokyo BOOST)

Eligibility

Those who are willing or are aiming to conduct top-level research in a wide area of research related to the field of next-generation AI that integrates different fields in a cross-disciplinary manner

Amount of support

Science Tokyo BOOST only accepts applications for those enrolling in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program this spring. Recruitment for those who will enroll in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program next spring (Offer in advance) is not conducted. Information for those who wish to enroll in Science Tokyo’s doctoral program in fall 2025 will be announced around fall 2025.
